Haven’t posted for a while but I’ve got a bunch. Here are some of my favorites at the moment:
Kaiser Chiefs — Heat Dies Down. (Very appropriate considering its summer now and burning hot at least here in LA). I used to like and listen to Kaiser Chiefs a long time ago. Back in the day. But I remembered them again when I was listening to I Predict A Riot and decided to get all their songs again. Other good ones (from the relatively new “Yours Truly, Angry Mob” album): The Angry Mob, Ruby.
The Bravery — Give In. One of my favorite bands of all time, possibly surpassing Air and some others. Their latest album (all SOTW material quite a while back) The Sun and the Moon was probably one of the best ever, but their old CD (I remember listening to these songs a summer or two ago) [been finding a bunch of old songs that I haven’t listened to for a long time] was pretty good too. Other good ones: Tyrant, No Brakes, An Honest Mistake, Swollen Summer..
Mogwai — Auto Rock. I’m sure I’ve posted this one before, but I heard it the other day as the background for some movie trailer. This is one of those calming, all-time-favorite songs alongside Air — Alone in Kyoto and Air — La Femme d’Argent. (All old SOTW’s but I figured they’re good enough for another mention.)
Lange — Drifting Away (ft Skye) A nice trance rythm with fun, soft and yet not annoying lyrics. Nice while driving at night.
And finally, I doubt anyone is going to be able to get their hands on these (since the only way I know would be to buy the CD’s in person) but I figured I’d post anyways because they’re great. First heard live at the retreat this year. Amma — Mohaalu Champara, Jai Jai Janani, He Gananayaka, Mata Rani & Om Shakti all from the World Tour 2007 CD’s.
