Now You Can’t Have any of my Pot Pie

The last episode of Heroes was totally awesome – I think the most eventful yet. The worst part was that there won’t be any more episodes till April 23.

But till then, some theories:

Peter lives. Obviously. Back in the beginning, future Hiro says “You look different without the scar on your forehead” or something like that. Well, now we know how he gets it. The ending was very dramatic, and you think Peter is a goner once his hair falls off, but obviously he’s going to heal in the next episode and Sylar is going to be in trouble.

As for Isaac’s painting: I think the painting is of himself, not of Peter. Sylar and Peter probably battle it out, Sylar realizes he’s no match and runs off. Where? To the next name he remembers: Isaac Mendez.

The gun on the floor is ambiguous, because there is a gun in both Mohinder’s and Isaac’s place. However, I see an easel in the background too and that makes me thing it’s Isaac’s place. It’s hard to tell who exactly it is with the painting style, but there’s a bit of goatee/beard and I think that’s more Isaac than peter. The biggest indicator is Hiro’s experience from Episode 1, where he finds dead Isaac and a gun on the ground. I think that still happens…

So the million dollar question: What happens to New York?

Few reasons why they don’t make it:
- Isaac painted it. It’s not the future if it doesn’t actually happen.
- Hiro also sees it. Twice. Again, the future can’t be the future if it doesn’t actually happen, right? This is a blurry area though because none of this is really possible so there are no solid rules.
- Peter just happens to be in New York, probably very close to where it’s going to go down. I’m not too sure how time has progressed in the episodes, but if it is election night then things would make sense.
– Nathan accepts Linderman’s deal, “wins by landslide” as in the newspaper. The next morning Peter loses it, while Sylar goes off and kills Isaac.

But some issues or indicators why it doesn’t happen:
- Dude, they’re blowing up New York. Obviously they’re going to try to build up confusion and hysteria – it’d be no fun if you know it’s not gonna happen. It’s especially worse because it’s not a bad guy or Ted or something, it’s Peter himself. Maybe.
- Peter’s dreams are weird. They’re more metaphorical and mysterious than actual visions of the future. Meaning what he sees probably isn’t going to exactly happen.
– First of all, you see Simone there when Peter blows. She’s dead so that can’t happen.
– The streets are totally empty, it seems like people have evacuated and run out of their cars and stuff. A fallen bike wheel was still spinning. Almost everyone we see are Heroes tha Peter knows. Doesn’t mean anything though because Simone is there and doesn’t have powers.
- When Nathan wins the elction and Hiro (from ep1) is being questioned for Isaac’s death: they call Japan and Ando picks up, saying he hasn’t heard of him for 6 months. By doing what he does, Hiro changes the future – because now Ando isn’t going to be there to pick up, and knows what’s going on. (The chances of the Haitian getting to him and sending him back to Japan are remote.) EVEN THOUGH HE HAD SEEN IT EARLIER, going back he changes it so that situation can never happen. This doesn’t mean that there’s no exposion, but events aren’t as solid and unchangable either. Of course, that’s a minor detail and some mistakes are going to be inevitable since of course this type of stuff isn’t real anyways. And that was necessary for good storytelling.
- I don’t think it’s November 8, election day, yet.
- Peter hasn’t met Ted yet.

So it is pretty unclear what happens. New York probably doesn’t blow up – but either way the next few episodes will be very interesting, once they actually come out (I’m pretty angry about this delay).

Re- Peter lives. Obviously.

Obviously. :)

Re - As for Isaac’s painting: I think the painting is of himself, not of Peter … The biggest indicator is Hiro’s experience from Episode 1, where he finds dead Isaac and a gun on the ground.

It’s actually Episode 2 (remember the one where Hiro runs off with the comic and the bhangra music comes on) but your memory serves you right. Isaac (with full goatee) is lying dead on the ground with his head is sliced open Sylar-style.

So, quite likely that the painting is of Isaac. Peter doesn’t have a goatee and Isaac seems to be developing one.

P.S. Hate the fact that there is a break till April 23 as well. Sigh …
